This is a a York air conditioning compressor out of a 83 Volvo. I picked it up at the junk yard for 20 bucks. This compressor can be easily converted to an air compressor because the freon is not used for lubrication. Its a dual piston, with a wet bath crank case. So I basically just had to clean it out and put some ATF in the case for crankshaft lubrication. I also but an air oil separator in the line because a little oil will pass by the pistons and valves.
These are a few pictures of how I mounted it on a 83 Toyota 22R. I used the old air conditioner bracket and made an adapter to mount the York.
This setup works fairly well. Attach it to a 2 Gallon tank, and you can fill tires easily or run air tools
